What is the POCA Exchange?

POCA Exchange is a service which we offer to criminal defence solicitors, whereby a Proceeds of Crime confiscation (POCA) case can be swapped for a different type of criminal case or vice versa.

Inquesta will act as a broker for the exchange, ensuring that any POCA cases passed over are reciprocated. The aim is that every party will be equally satisfied.

How does it work?

Through our Forensic Accounting work, we have a large contact database of criminal defence solicitors, many of whom we have worked with.

There are a number of these firms who either do not have the appetite or the know-how for POCA cases, or who simply cannot make that type of work profitable.

On the other hand, we know of many firms who are actively looking for POCA work. The simple diagram below illustrate how the POCA Exchange works:

How much will it cost?

This service is free of charge!!

Who uses the POCA Exchange?

The POCA Exchange is open to any criminal defence solicitor, providing they have the willingness and ability to reciprocate if a case is passed there way.

Reciprocity is at the heart of the Exchange and it would not work without it. If you are only interested in receiving a POCA case but have no intention of passing a case back, the POCA Exchange is not for you.
